How to make popcorn blossoms
We are celebrating Spring with a delicious treat that is quick and easy to make! These popcorn balls remind us of the blossoms blooming outside, making them the perfect springtime treat that your kids are going to love. With only a few ingredients needed, they’ll be ready in just a few minutes, plus they’re a great way to use up that leftover Easter candy!

This easy to make treat is inspired by the song “Popcorn Popping On The Apricot Tree” and would make a perfect addition to a children’s class or lesson. We recommend separating the Popcorn Blossoms into cupcake liners to create individual servings that make it easy for little hands to enjoy! The colors and added candy are completely up to you and can be mixed and matched. We love to use chocolate with our popcorn, but jelly beans and other candies would work just as well.

How To Make Popcorn Blossoms

 Ingredients Needed:

1 bag of microwave popcorn

candy of your choice (we used m&m’s and cadbury mini eggs)

chocolate wafers

food coloring (optional)

Directions:

Begin by popping your bag of popcorn and setting aside. Separate your chocolate wafers into multiple bowls or jars and melt completely. Add 1 drop of food coloring to each bowl of melted chocolate and stir until the color has blended well. Drizzle the chocolate onto the popcorn then add your candy of choice. Stir the whole thing together then separate into cupcake liners to create individual servings. Top with leftover chocolate to complete the look!

While this can be a slightly messy dessert to make, it is also quick, easy, and fun. Get the kids involved and let them select their add-ons and colors, then take your popcorn blossoms outside and enjoy them under a tree full of real blossoms!
